Mermaid in black lace

I got this lace today at Hobby Lobby and really was going to use it for Halloween cards but then saw the under the sea challenge at Magical Mondays and wanted to use it so this is what happens when you really want to use something.  I really tried along time to make it work.  Image is by Sweet Pea.  For the following challenges

Glittery Halloween Forest

I'm really proud of this card  because my 11 year old Aly drew the digi (available at Gingerloft)  Lots of glitter added to this card and alot of distressing with sponges.  It was actually pretty fast to make because there wasn't alot of coloring to do.  The flower did take awhile.  The paper is the Recollections from Michaels.  The flourishes are all cut up flourishes by Tim Holtz Sizzix die.  Thanks for looking.  Made for these challenges

Another OWH card Christmas

Another very fast simple card for the OWH Christmas challenges.  This little cutie is by Alota Rubber stamps.  I won this stamp set last year after Christmas and it is finally time to get to use them.  Very fast and simple card.  Made for these challenges

OWH Christmas card

I find it very hard to make these simple cards without much embellishments but so many challenges are up this week for the Operation Write Home that I thought I would give it a whirl.  For the OWH cards you can not use glitter and they prefer that your cards are not too bulky (which are what most of my cards are all about) but hey I need some practice because at Christmas there is no way I have time to make tons of extreme ornate cards.  Anyway the stamp is by Pink cat studio.  A set I got last year and used alot.  Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Sleepy Hollow

Happy Halloween.  I am really in the mood to m ake spooky cards this year.  I don't give out Halloween cards so not sure what I will do with them all but I really like how this one turned out.  This digi is by Gingerloft  I really wanted to distress the paper to make it look like a spooky night that this headless horseman was riding in and I think I achieved what I was trying to do.  The flower is a prima orange rose and I distressed with black ink.  Oh the background is webbing spray.  I haven't used that stuff in ages.  I hope you like this little spooky card.  Made for the following challenges

Lots of Poinsettias

I don't know that I really like this card...  I need to stick with what I know and stop going off into the unknown.  Another "vintage" looking card.  I do like the crackle technique.  This is new to me.  I do not think I got enough crackle as I want but I didn't have the ultra thick embossing just regular clear.  I did many layers and then stuck it in the fridge and then cracked it and got about 3 vertical cracks.  This stamp is OLD.  It is probobly one of the very first stamps I ever got about 11 years ago.  I distressed the edges and wish I would have distressed the first layer instead of punching it.  Probobly too many flowers.  OK enough of me talking about this card.  Made for the following challenges

Pumpkin patch and my attempt at rolled flowers

I really enjoyed using this weeks Saturday Sketch  It was alot of fun to work with.  I got to use this owl ribbon that I got last year and some of my left over fall paper also from last year.  The digi stamp is a newbie from Gingerloft I colored with copics and then added some chalk for the sky and ground.  The flowers I made following a tutorial at SCS called rolled flowers.  I'm not sure that I did them right but I had fun making them.  Thanks for looking and I am entering in the following challenges.

One Day at a Time

I made this card for a man at a church who gave his testimony about stopping the smoking habit that he has had for 50 years.  I hope the bow and glitter brad doesn't make this card too GIRLY but I made this for a man.  The image is by Phindy's Place.  I am really into scenic stamps right now so if you know some cool digi scenes let me know.  The paper is by October afternoon from their fly a kite pad.  Thanks for looking and this card was made for these challenges.
