One day mini vacation down Route 66

Sat Jan 21- The French family hop into the family Corolla and head west. West towards OKC but stop short off the turnpike and head off on old route 66. Route 66 winds through the whole state of Oklahoma and there are tons of old stops to look at and enjoy. Our first stop was an old gas station built in the earlt tweenties or teens. Actually there had been a counterfeit company in the back of this old station which is amazing since it is so small. Next off to the famous round barn of Arcadia. The acoustics in this place were just spooky. Very echo-e Is that a word. Next off to Pops a very unique building where they house I think every known soda pop in the world and have a great restraunt. This was Alyssa's fav spot. Next we headed north to Guthrie. This was the first capitol of Oklahoma. Tons of old buildings and museums here. Actually we may go back and visit a bed and breakfast here. It is just a very cool town to visit. Of course we geocached our way through these areas as well and it was just a great day for all. We ended our big day by stopping at Grandmas and ended up playing a game of skip bo. We arrived home around 11 and slept very well. You don't have to go far from home to have a great time.
